We are coming to the end of our walk down memory lane as we consider the last five years!
In 2019, the CRWP did not hold a full institute but we did bring a group of teachers to Beaver Island. We were planning big things for 2020, but we all know what happened next. When teachers went remote in March of 2020, Troy Hicks and CRWP teacher consultants stepped in with casual Zoom events and webinars on using technology in remote learning.
In June of 2020, we held a 2-week Remote Literacy Learning Institute on Zoom that brought in educators not just from Michigan but from across the country! Who knew that we would love spending 6 hours on Zoom each day?! But we connected over our love of students, reading, writing, and teaching!
Educators from the June institute joined us for an extended leadership institute in the fall of 2020.
When we still were not comfortable meeting face-to-face in 2021, we held another fully virtual institute in June of 2021 and a virtual leadership institute to follow.
Hooray for the power of virtual learning to connect us with colleagues from across the country!
